Life handed us some lemons this week related to our kitchen in the form of dented appliances. It is certainly not what you expect when you open your “new” appliances that cost you a lot of money. To make matters worse, customer service after the sale was non-existent. The lesson I have learned from the experience is to avoid Direct Buy.
On the flip-side, our local granite guy exceeded our expectations today by giving us an early install. That was customer service at its best. Friends, family, readers, if you need granite in central Iowa or the greater Omaha area . . . he is your guy, and I will give you his number with no hesitation.
The good news is that even after our set-backs, the kitchen is practically functional! Another great unexpected benefit is the chance to visit J’s sister in KC when we return our dented and unusable “new” microwave to the seller. In the end, we have managed to make lemonade out these lemons!
